LHA - Sibling Day

In Celebration...

...of the cold front that swept through south east Texas I did some cute winter studio shots of my youngest son - compliments of Old Navy. I do have to say that I believe he has the prettiest, most vibrant, sparkling blue eyes ever! I hope they stay that beautiful and if they do - watch out ladies! :)

K - Sneak Peak

Houston had it's first big cold front of the season move in...right during our session. I had my second 9 month session for the week and we were forced indoors. Luckily I have a lot of girl props - more for girls then I do boys when I have two of my own (funny enough). She made it a challenge for us by not wanting to play with anything nor play dress up, but we did our best and I got some fun shots of Miss K. She is such a doll and both of my sons seems to think so as well! ;) Here is your sneak peak with more coming your way soon!

R - Sneak Peak

I had an energy filled session with one of the 9 month old baby sessions this afternoon. He was on the move the entire time! He made it a challenge for me, but it worked out great. It didn't phase him at all that I was trying to take his picture. He is such a little cutie! R, here is your sneak peak with more coming soon! :)

Third Time's A Charm...

...for perfect weather, that is. It was a gorgeous day for school pictures. The humidity was low, the breeze felt great, and the temperature stayed in the low 80's. The last 30 kids did super today and had a blast with the tricycle and wagon. This school has the best students as they all did a fantastic job with their school pictures. I will keep you all updated as the pictures get edited and printed. I will put some up on my website under my portfolio section in the children section. I know a few of the parents have sent me emails regarding if they were up yet or not and so far I have 5 pictures up. I will add more as I edit them! :) Thanks to Billie Carr for the opportunity and pleasure of being your school photographer. You have a wonderful school with terrific students and staff and I had such a great time with you all! :)

Take Two

The second day of school pictures had a scorching sun hovering above us with so much humidity that it felt like a sauna. It was one of the hottest days so far this month. We decided to do our shots up front under the covered drive for some nice shade. It went really well doing the pictures there, because the kids could wait inside before their turn. We did 30 children in about 3.5 hours...not bad! We had sibling picture day in the late afternoon and it went well. We had a couple of unwilling toddlers, but cute pictures none the less. Besides the heat, second day of school pictures went great!

First Day of School

Today was my first day of shooting school pictures...it went fabulous!! I was expecting madness and chaos of whining 2 year olds, pouty 3 year olds, and disgruntled 4 year year olds. But to my surprise, it was just the opposite. These kids were wonderful - truly terrific, well behaved, beautiful children. I was impressed! We did 40 kids and 4 class shots today all within 4 hours. WOW! That included a change in location and a small rain shower. I hope the next two days go just as well as this one did.

So...

...it seems I lied. I booked two sessions for October. I know I said I wasn't going to, but they were both for 9 month old baby photo shoots. And since babies grow up too fast and couldn't wait until they were 10-10.5 months to get the portraits done I went ahead and scheduled them for next week. Keep your eyes out, because I have some cute new ideas/props for these two. And for blog readers interested in scheduling a session please know I am now booked halfway through November. The last two weeks will fill just as fast, so email me today to get your session done in time for the holidays! :)

Hiatus

I am taking the month of October off to do a couple of big events, so I am no longer shooting sessions for the rest of the month. I know I have quite a few loyal blog readers, so I will still entertain you all with various posts and pictures. I promise! I am excited to be doing school pictures next week for a brand new thriving pre-school in Angleton as well as a Halloween party for a moms group later in the month. Both will take up some of my time with editing and proofing, but come November I am back to shooting sessions. I already have several dates booked, so if you are interested please contact me soon to reserve your spot. It's a beautiful weekend here in Houston, so I hope everyone is enjoying it! :)

M - Sneak Peak

This session took 3 tries to get it right - weather that is. The first two attempts for this family session were rained out. Patience is a virtue though, because the weather this evening was PERFECT. It was the most beautiful sunset I have seen down in Galveston Island in a long time. It was 80 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. M family, it was a great session. Addiction

I think I have a new found love for - Starbucks Double Chocolate Chip Frappuccino....YUMM! I find myself indulging in a cool treat after sessions. The rich chocolate mixed with ice, cream, and chocolate chips is the guilty pleasure I enjoy the most. I savor every calorie - all 550 of them...not to mention the 19g of fat. Ahhhh it is delicious and worth every bit of unhealthyness!

C - Sneak Peak

I had a wonderful family session today at beautiful Varner-Hogg Plantation. I really appreciate the plantation allowing us to use their property for our photo session this afternoon. It was an amazing location with so much history. I will keep this place in mind for future family sessions...it was perfect! C family, here is your sneak peak with more coming soon!

B - Sneak Peak

I had a morning session with a beautiful baby girl. She was such a doll and did great with the camera. I was able to use my tutu (wahoo!) and the pics came out beautiful! I just ordered a black one, so I can't wait to use my new one when it gets here. B, here is your sneak peak and see you Thursday evening for your family portraits! :)

I've been tagged...

So, a fellow photographer friend (http://www.ambershereephotography.blogspot.com/) has tagged my blog! I am suppose to list 8 things about myself...here they go:

1) I am 25 years old...eek are women suppose to list their age?! ;)
2) I have been married for over 4 years.
3) I have two handsome sons (Austin who is 2.5 and Jacob who is 9 months).
4) I have a degree in nursing and was an OB nurse before I became a SAHM. I do pick up a few shifts here and there when they are busy...usually no more then 2-3 shifts a month.
5) I love photography...really I do. I have so much passion for it. I enjoy every session and I am always trying to bring something new to the table.
6) I love Mexican food. Casa Ole and Los Cucos are my favorite places to eat.
7) I am never late. I am usually 15mins early to any place I have to be at. I am knocking on wood as we speak! ;)
8) I am a happy, down to earth, easy going kind of lady. I love to laugh, I love to smile, and I love to make others feel the same.
